At the prime of her life… Kris Stefanac just 34 years old, happily married, and the mother of two young children– Claire, age 2, and Drazen, age 5 months– her beautiful world was turned upside down. Just one month after her son was born, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Kris and her husband Mark did their research, and she picked her physician team at University Hospitals. Unfortunately, her health insurance has a lot of gaps and the medical bills are starting to pile up.
Cancer is draining both physically and emotionally. The last thing Kris and Mark need is the stress of medical bills. Kris had five chemotherapy treatments when we received some devastating news. Her breast cancer is now confirmed to be Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
Typically this is a rare, yet very aggressive and advanced form of breast cancer, but it can be beat! This is where we need your help.
They asked the doctor what the plan of attack was and she was told by her Oncologist that if it was him, he would get to Houston, TX to the MD Anderson Cancer Center as soon as possible. The doctors in Houston have arranged to provide the treatment to Kris in Cleveland. Even though this eliminates the travel expenses of going to Houston, many of the expenses are still not covered.
I know times are tough, but we need your help! Any amount that you can give would be greatly appreciated.
The management of The Wild Goose in Downtown Willoughby, Ohio has offered to host this fundraiser and donate proceeds to help in Kris’s battle.
The fundraiser will be held on September 29, 2012 from noon until closing.
Several other Downtown Willoughby businesses have donated items and services for an auction to be held on that date.
Please contact Tom Bertone or Jim Lessick at 440-953-4212 if you are able to give or if you need more information.
