Bella Me Bella You sells one-of-a-kind, handmade purses.
Owner Susie Steele was overwhelmed when it was announced that Bella Me Bella You would be the next recipient of a cash mob sponsored by Willoughby Today and downtown merchants.
The cash mob, which will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 5 p.m., is meant to stimulate commerce for one particular store each month. Groups of people are encouraged to visit the specified location and purchase one item from that shop.
Steele said she was ‘shocked’ by the news.
“Not only does she have great items at the best prices, she is our Downtown Merchant Association president and has led us successfully for two years,” said Denise Tegge, owner of Twice Loved. “Congratulations to a very deserving woman.”
Steele opened Bella Me Bella You, 4069 Erie St., at its former location near Arabica coffee house in April 2010 after leaving her position in retail management after 15 years. The store sells one-of-a-kind, handmade purses, jewelry and accessories.
Because of hard economic times, Steele moved down the street into the back section of Twice Loved to be closer to other Downtown Willoughby retail businesses and boost sales.
Bella Me Bella You was selflessly nominated by numerous other businesses because of her dedication to the local community.
“I’m very touched that I was nominated by other business owners,” Steele said.
In addition to one-of-a-kind handmade purses, Steele also runs Sewing by Suzie, a business for custom clothing alterations and repairs.
Zipper replacement is $10 plus the price of the zipper, or for jeans $7 for replacement plus the price of the zipper. Pant leg hemming is $7 per pair. Bridesmaids dress and other alterations are also available by request.
