Mayor Anderson to Unveil Traffic Light Replica at ArtStock

The DiVine District collective (My Song Boutique, Spray U Tan, Schultz Upholstery, Molta Bella Pizza, Pure Color Bar, Joe’s Music and more) is hosting its much anticipated art event, ArtStock on May 15 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The event is FREE and will host children’s activities, business demonstrations, giveaways, live art and much more!
ArtStock is a creative gathering of artists showcasing their talents. The event will be an exciting assembly in which event goers can explore, experience and participate in art! The theme of this event will be a celebration of flowers, as we welcome spring to Willoughby.

Stage performances have been added this year and include Inside Out, a Jazz/Blues band with members who have played the International Music Festival by request, Showstoppers Baton, Irish Step Dancing, Maple Mountain Chorus Barbershop, Plaid Sabbath (Celtic/Scottish) and more. Performances are scheduled from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The DiVine Sculpture Walk will return to line Vine Street between Erie and Skiff. Several new pieces will be on display, including the premier work from Willoughby Tech Center Welding Class 2011, which is a creative rendition of Garrett Morgan‘s original traffic light design.

A ceremony to honor the students will be held at 1:30 p.m. and will be led by Mayor Anderson.

“ArtStock has generated much interest from artists and event goers of all ages,” says Jackie Bertolette, co-owner of My Song Boutique and project co-initiator. “It’s a unique way to celebrate art in our community and focuses on demonstrations and the creation of art.”
